FG, ASUU agree on N100b stimulus package

It seems like ASSU and FG is going to finally agree

The Federal Government committee to implement the needs assessment report in Nigerian universities yesterday reached an agreement with representatives of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on the issue of decaying infrastructure in the universities following the adoption of a report by the committee’s Technical Committee.

The Committee chaired by Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam rose from a meeting at the Benue Governor’s lodge , Abuja Tuesday night, announcing that the Federal Government had agree to deploy N100 billion for provision of infrastructure on the campuses of 61 universities covered in the needs assessment report earlier carried out by a federal government committee.
Based on the agreement therefore, the only matter in contention is the issue of the earned allowances which Governor Suswam assured would be dealt with on Monday since the federal government has made substantial offer to the striking lecturers.
