Prospective Lions & Lioness, Wish you All Gods Grace

Now that you are probably done with your Post UTME, everybody is curious of what becomes of you. i.e. if you are going to spend yet another year at home or you are finally going to become an 'under G'.
Well the best thing now is prayers of any form. You have to call on whatever or whoever you believe in to help you achieve your dreams of being a lion & lioness.
I am not going to advise you to start looking for Profs. And Deans that is your Dad's grandmother's son's uncle or people you can pay money to secure an admission for you. The truth is that things like that must have happened in the past or still happens, but you might want to know that the school authority these days no longer find it difficult to expel you who find it easy to buy admission, irrespective of your year of study. At least I know of a third year student whose admission was withdrawn and he have to start writing jamb again because the school scrutinized that his admission wasn't legitimate.
We both know that the truth is whatever you are doing, you have to do it well so my first advice is whatever part you choose to follow, follow it right; that is to say that at least before you talk about "runsing" the admission you must have made a pass mark in your Post UTME
The Post UTME result will be out in no distant time, wish all of you prospective lions & lioness who wrote this year’s post utme exam Gods grace.
It might interest you to know that not everybody that wrote the exam will be admitted and rushing to buy the Supplementary form is not a license that you will be approved as many people who's scores are above yours probably with two or three points etc  are buying the advert form as well. (Advert form is an opportunity given to people who scored high but who's average didn't reach the department of their choice cut off mark to swap to a lower course e.g. if for any reason you didn't get Law which you wrote for and had the average of 239.23, you can actually shop for Sociology or Combined Social sciences or Combined Arts and be lucky)
That brings us to how UNN select their students i.e. how the cut off mark is set.
The truth is that there are preferences based on state of Origin either based on amnesty to the oil producing states or less educated states.  So someone from Akwa Ibom might gain admission ahead of someone from Anambra who made a higher point in same course.
The institution  also takes a particular  number  they want in each department so assuming sociology department  is to take 60 students in first  list, they  will count  down from the highest score  to the 60th person and the 60th person’s score becomes the cut off mark, after  which  the second list comes out, followed by other lists including V.C's list, Governor's list, and  Businessman's list etc usually  made up of staff quota, I.M's and state  preferences etc.
So if you are not lucky enough to be among these categories, the scary truth is that you might write jamb again unless you decide to go for Polytechnic or College of education where you will only need to buy toilet soap and tissue and probably textbooks to get admission.
Hope by now you know the competition you are in especially haven seen the multitude that wrote the screening and knowing full well that the institution cannot take more than half of that population.

Wish all of you the best.
