The African Champions Have Fallen

 I acknowledge our team performance in the on going confederation cup but am not expecting the Nation to see reasons or excuses to do that as well. In fact I will love to hear this morning that the plots of land given to the super eagles team that won AFCON in FCT have been withdrawn.
I managed to squeeze myself into a tight corner along side multitude of other soccer loving Nigerians, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. As patriotic as I am, I couldn't see a reason in me to believe that my dear country will in any angle defeat the world champions not after we lost to Uruguay  but outside I wished we could see a draw in the match and hope Tahiti performs a magic against Uruguay. People were so convinced that them (Tahiti) would love to win a match in the tournament or at least record a draw so they will play their hearts off.
The degree at which the fans believed in the power of Naija was enormous ranging from the way we celebrated accurate passes, attempts on goal and some dribbling. At a time fans were calling African Magic (African Traditional Religion), Black Men gods and the ancestors to join forces and make us come come out of the match with at-least a point. Well It didn't happen and you can't really blame them cause it is about time the N.F.F and The team managers learn from their mistakes and not just point them out.
Firstly I am still asking where S. Keshi brought all those guys flying our nations flag from? Everybody might not see reasons with me for this my view but i believe we have better players. The blame for our loss is that we didn't have world class/experienced strikers in the competition and that is the same reason why I choose to say that Keshi went to his village and arranged some guys to make up the team. Yes because I see no reason why players like Obafemi Martins, Chinedu Obasi, The Uche brother's, Osaze, Anechebe or even Yakubu wasn't called for the competition rather we choose to play Mikel, Enyema and Nine other moving objects including Mba who will only score on a Sunday but couldn't score the previous Sunday.
The reason is that those other guys are feeling rich and big etc. Of course they are rich and big and showing it is not a sin. Let me still remind us that they are not doing all those stuffs more than players like Mario Balloteli and co who will even fight the managers yet they are still field just for the sake of the outcome of the game.
Yakubu might have missed open net but he is still better than Ideye and co and he didn't perform worst than Torres who is among the Spanish team even after his tragedy in Chelsea.
We should learn to accommodate.
It is a pity we have to leave and not represent Africa well. Just hope we see such an opportunity again and learn how to ball harder in bigger games.
